It’s been a couple of weeks since I’ve had the opportunity to sit down and write a blog post! We’ve finally became settled (well, sort of) in California, even though we have a loooong ways to go. Moving is so flippin’ hard, like harder than I had ever imagined, and I’m happy to say that I’m finally at a place where I can take a bit of a breather, but not for long. There’s still so much more to do before I feel like I’ll be able to call this place home.
In the meantime, I promised myself that I was going to focus on my blog more after the move. This is going to be MY journey to establishing myself & working towards that final goal of being happy with where I’m at in the blogging world.
Now that that’s out of the way, go have a look at some of beauty the Western part of the US has to offer, even if it was all from the Interstate.
Here’s a 4 Day Road Trip from Indiana → California:
When I had originally planned the trek from Indiana to Cali, I was giving myself about 2 weeks so I had time for some detours. I planned on heading up to South Dakota to see Mt. Rushmore; I was going to go 15 hours out of the way to visit Yellowstone & Old Faithful; I was excited to stop at Red Rocks & explore the Colorado Rocky Mountains.
None of that happened.
Once I reached Cheyenne, Wyoming, a mere 17 hours from my starting point, I found out from the locals that they were expecting a winter storm the next morning as a cold front was coming through. Instead of exploring, I opted for heading straight towards Cali. Regardless, I was able to catch some shots of the western US landscape!

Utah
Driving in and around Salt Lake City will leave you absolutely breathless! I thought I was going around snow for miles and miles since the elevation is higher until I realized when I saw a Morton factory that it’s not snow, it’s SALT! I was mesmerized!

Nevada
Although Nevada is mostly desert (that’s what I’ve gathered throughout my trips to Vegas, anyways) I was totally surprised to see how mountainous and stunning the scenery was!
California
And finally, my new home state! I literally adore the surrounding area that we live in. When people hear of California, they most likely think of the beaches, Hollywood, fame and fortune, and traffic jams at all hours of the day. The area I live in has barns and wild animals, mountains, hills, lakes and farmland and I just love everything about it!
Wow this looks amazing, I would love to road trip through America, it’s in my bucket list. No idea where to go so I’ll take notes lol x
The route I took was I-80W but I strongly suggest either taking I-90 up to Yellowstone or I-70 through Colorado. Unfortunately, I didn’t want to get caught in the snow so I wasn’t able to do that but it would be the best way to see the best parts of the US like Yellowstone or the Grand Canyon!
