Aliki, located on the southwest coast of Paros Island in Greece, is a tiny village predominantly inhabited by fishermen. Although Paros is one of the quieter islands in the Cyclades, Aliki has become more popular for tourism for its peacefulness and local charm.
Here’s The Fishing Village of Aliki on Paros Island – A Complete Guide:
About Aliki
A town only inhabited by a couple hundred people, Aliki is the type of place you want to go to take things slow. The cove near Piso Aliki Beach showcases its crystal-clear water with small fishing boats dotting the bay. With the bright pink florals, seaside cafes, and 3 large sandy beaches, Aliki is the perfect option for a quiet paradise vacation in the Cyclades.

What to Do in Aliki
Go Diving & Snorkeling
Whether you’re doing it for the first time or have years of experience under your belt, you can’t miss the opportunity to dive while visiting here. Try the Cycladic Diving Company to plan your day out in the waters.
Soak Up the Sun at the Beach
The most popular beach is Alyki Beach. There are no chairs and umbrellas to rent but it is close to restaurants, has shallow waters and is all sandy with minimal rocks. Piso Aliki Beach doesn’t have chairs or umbrellas to rent but has trees that can be used for shade. The beach is very pebbly but the sand begins to dominate when you get closer to the shore.
If you want to wander out of the village, there are many beaches within only a couple of miles along the coastline.
Go Fishing with Captain Giorgis
Aliki has always been known as a fisherman’s village. Scores of locals dock their boats here and set off almost every morning for a fresh catch, with the fish then prepped for use by the restaurants. A one of a kind experience is to see how the Greek locals actually fish. Take a tour with Captain Giorgis, where he shows you how true, local Grecian’s catch their dinner.
Rent an ATV and Go Exploring
This was the best decision we made when coming to Paros. There are many beaches along the coastline, especially around Aliki and to the west. Renting an ATV allows you to beach-hop and discover the surrounding villages.
Eat as Much Fresh Seafood as You Can
The best thing about Aliki is the restaurants and all eateries here are ran by the locals. Owners even grow their own products and prepare them to order so you know you’re always getting the freshest meals!
Take a Yoga Class
Aliki is so incredibly relaxing and one of the most complementary things you could do is take a yoga class at Aliki Yoga School. Oona Giesen started doing yoga at age 7 and now owns her own studio here. Oona really focuses on each student in her class, teaching them exactly how yoga should be practiced.
Visit the Folklore Art Museum of Cycladic Civilization
This little museum has to be one of the most unique things you could do in Aliki. Benetos Skiadas is a local fisherman from Paros who began using his artistic talents to create miniature buildings, ships, and other foundations to tell the history of the Greeks. He hand-makes every piece, using only materials from the Cyclades. His entire home, of which he shares with his wife, is adorned with these spectacular carvings.
Take a Cruise with Captain Michael Zeppos
If you want to see hidden coves and beaches, take a day trip to Antiparos, or have a secluded sunset cruise with a fresh-cooked dinner, contact Captain Michael Zeppos. He offers a wide range of boat tours, private or with groups at a reasonable price.
