It’s been a dream of mine for years to explore northern Europe which is that of Scandinavia. When the opportunity presented itself a few months back, I knew I’d have to make it a point to go in the spring since I’d then have the best chance for my top bucket list item, the Northern Lights.
Here’s My 10 Day Scandinavia Itinerary:
Day 1 – 3: Bergen
Spend 3 days in the western fairytale city of Bergen. The second biggest city in Norway is completely surrounded by mountains and fjords, specifically the Sognefjord which is Norway’s longest and deepest. Enjoy basking in the charming cobblestone streets with colorful homes stacked on top of one another.

On your last full day in Bergen, embark on the self-guided Norway in a Nutshell tour. Whizz down the Bergen Rail through stunning scenery along the fjords and by yellow and red Norwegian homes dotting the landscape.
Arriving to the beautiful Gudvangen, play in the snow at the base of the Norwegian Alps and warm up inside the café with a cup of hot cocoa.
Hop on a Future ferry at the port to catch your cruise down the fjords.

Feel free to take the Fjellheisen to the tippy tops of the city for some incredible views of the surrounding fjords, snowy mountains and glaciers.
Day 5: Tromsø
Spend your final day in Tromsø with some classic Arctic adventures. Take a visit to a reindeer camp with Tromsø Arctic Reindeer to learn about their historical Sami culture and feed, play and sled with Santa’s favorite pet.
After filling your heart with these majestic creatures, prepare to embark on a nighttime tour to chase the Northern Lights. If you’re lucky, you may even get a chance to see them twirl, dance and spin around in the sky like I did.
Day 6 – 7: Oslo
Fly from Tromsø to Norway’s capital in Oslo to spend the next couple of days seeing the best of what the city has to offer. From unique architecture, saunas on the fjords, trendy food halls and rich history, 2 days in Oslo should be ample time to experience the best of the city.

Day 8 – 10: Stockholm
Take the train from Oslo to my new favorite city of Stockholm. This hip and artistic city is home to multiple islands at the entrance of the Baltic Sea. Spend your days strolling through Gamla Stan’s fairytale streets, riding the Tunnelbana to see the world’s longest art exhibit and basking in those charming views of the harbors and boats dotted along the shoreline.
