So much goes into planning your next vacation but one of the most crucial decisions you need to make is where you’re going to stay. Accommodations play a big role in terms of the successfulness of a trip (most times) so it’s important to weigh out all options. While I do love me a good hotel with all the right amenities, my favorite type of places to stay have been a holiday cottage.
Benefits of a Holiday Cottage
In my experience, staying in holiday cottages are much more enjoyable and memorable for a couple of reasons. The added privacy is definitely the best benefit. If traveling in a group, I also love staying in a cottage as we all can enjoy the vacation under one roof instead of a bunch of different hotel rooms. Hotels tend to have a lot more limitations offered, especially in reference to amenities within your room, so holiday cottages are definitely more beneficial in that aspect.
Top Perks for Staying in a Holiday Cottage
One of the best things about staying in a holiday cottage is having the ability to reside in a place with character. Of all the locations I’ve been in this world, the most cultural and quaintness of accommodations came when I stayed in a holiday cottage. Most of the options you’ll find out there have a rural quality about them, adding in a picturesque atmosphere and fabulous views of the location you’re in. Hotels tend to not incorporate these features as they’re more generic to satisfy the majority of people.
Because of the variation of holiday cottages available, there are ample opportunities to find one that suits your needs. You’ll be surprised by the amount of options offered and, especially if traveling with more people, you’ll have the chance to decide on how much space you need to accommodate everyone.
Most holiday cottages offer incredible outdoor spaces, allowing you to relax and bask in the environment. Most hotels only offer communal spaces and maybe a small balcony but not near the amount of outdoor room as a holiday cottage would offer.
Why I Choose a Holiday Cottage Over a Hotel
I’m the type of traveler who wants to get away from the hustle and bustle of a city center. Holiday cottages allow me to choose more remote locations but still have easy access to the busyness if I wish to go there. I also love my sleep! And staying within a city definitely isn’t as peaceful as most holiday cottages. I’m also very adventurous so holiday cottages are perfect for people like me. They allow me to utilize my travel essentials like my hiking gear and Maloo Racks.
